Congress Hands Bush First Veto Override

Well, it took them a while, but Congress was finally able to override a Bush veto this week. On a 79-14 vote in the Senate and a 361-54 vote in the House, Congress overturned the President's veto of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007. It marked the first time that a Presidential veto has been overridden since Congress overturned Clinton's veto of H.R. 2631 on November 13, 1997.
